JAM Schools Workshops Hit the Tees Valley

SCHOOLS JAM-PACKED WITH MUSIC!

Schools in the Tees Valley have been left stamping and clapping this week as Apollo Arts have travelled to local schools to perform a special 40 minute assembly!

The JAM Band - comprising 2 keyboards, bass guitar, electric guitar, drums and with a special guest on congas – have so far performed in various schools in the local area and have had both students and staff clapping and laughing in time with them!

Nearly 1000 pupils from Ingleby Mill, Crooksbarn and Oxbridge Lane have so far experienced the workshop – and it’s only the second day!!

The 40 minute assembly looks at how a band makes their sound (we get to meet the band and the instruments they play), and involves ALL children in a bit of good old fashioned audience participation (not to mention a small role for the teachers!).

The FREE music workshops offered to schools have been to raise awareness of Apollo Arts’ flagship programme launched next month, the Junior Academy of Music (JAM).

JAM is the first Junior Academy of Music to be opened in the North East of England, The tuition is aimed at 6-11 year olds and teaches the foundations of music, both rhythmic and melodic, in a relaxed, fun and safe environment.

Are you in a school that might like the band in? Contact us to check availability – but school places are for a limited time only.
