CCTV End of Summer

Carnival Crew Tees Valley Summer 2010

Carnival Crew Tees Valley have this week brought an end to their long summer of performances. With their summer 2010 tour taking them from Durham to Liverpool; Darlington to Hartlepool; CCTV is fast gathering a reputation throughout the North East, and nationally, for being a skilled touring carnival band that mix elements of current popular music, and fuse it with the sights and sounds of a traditional Carnival parade.

Preparations began well before Easter for the summer excursions, and the first stop for CCTV was Darlington Community Carnival, way back in June! It was a fantastic parade and the day was ended with a 20 minute static performance in front of the Darlington Arts Centre.

CCTV’s next venture was to perform at Liverpool International Carnival on the 24th July. Though the group were parading for the best part of three hours, the carnival drew large crowds to the area and CCTV performed for another 30 minutes in front of an appreciative audience in Princes Park.

CCTV were back on the road two days later performing at an event hosted by A WAY OUT in Stockton centre. After three separate performances throughout the day, the group had shown great stamina throughout the weekend and were showing vast signs of improvement in their music and dance.

CCTV then led the Stockton International Riverside Festival Community Carnival on 31st July. Though many of the band were spread throughout the carnival leading various community and school groups, CCTV led a very successful parade and received very favourable feedback.

The following weekend, Carnival Crew Tees Valley were again leading a parade, this time at the Hartlepool Tall Ships Races 2010 Crew Parade. Another very long day, the group first performed on the main stage in the early afternoon displaying their diverse performance skills in a static demonstration before being led to the front of the amassing crew parade.

The remainder of the summer saw CCTV perform at Durham Streets of Dance Festival and Take to the Tees, an event at the Tees Barrage in Stockton.

With almost 45 young musicians and dancers taking part in the summer activities, Carnival Crew Tees Valley are well set to continue their success over the coming months.
